Minh Luong Hydropower Plant was officially developed by Nam Tien Group in October 2016. This plant has an investment of up to VND 1,090 billion, the capacity of 30 MW with 2 units: Water reservoir with an area of 0.11 km2, total capacity of 948,000 m3, the largest water flow through the plant is 33.64 m3/s, the dam elevation is 350 m; Pressurized well with a height of 54.06 m, diameter of 8 m; The pressure tunnel is 689.43 m long and 3.2 m in diameter; The water tunnel is 2,419.03 m long, the clearance diameter is from 3.2 to 3.8 m …
After over 18 months of urgent construction, on April 4, 2018, Minh Luong Hydropower Plant was completed the construction and installation process, 2 units officially generated electricity, transmitted into the national grid.
It was the top 7th largest scale plant in Lao Cai province at that time, expected to transmit into the national grid of 103.15 million kWh of electricity per year. Minh Luong Hydropower Plant not only solved a part of the difficulties caused by the power shortage but also created jobs for workers. This project contributed to accelerate the national industrialization and modernization and protect border security.
